Dale Botting has been a high-profile Canadian business leader and “serial CEO,” having led six different organizations in business advocacy, the environmental industry, economic development, international trade promotion, and biotechnology. His formal academic background includes three degrees - each with Highest Distinction in Ecology/Biology, Geography and Education. His Masters Studies were in Environmental Design and Ecology at the Universities of Calgary and Saskatchewan.

Dale has had a diverse career working at the highest levels in business, government, and the non-profit sectors. Dale has been an Environmental Planner, a Science and Innovation Policy Analyst/ADM, and a Secretary or Senior Analyst for several Saskatchewan Cabinet Committees and Provincial Governments. He was an early pioneer in the growth of the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB), as well as a Policy Analyst and Advocate for Canadian Small Business across Canada. Dale has also been a CEO for Affirmative Enterprises of working people with disabilities; a CEO in Regional Economic Development in Saskatoon, and later and separately, in Leadership of the entire Global Trade and Export Sector of Saskatchewan. His last job as a salaried executive was serving as Deputy Minister in the Government of Saskatchewan (2007 -10), and as the founding CEO of both Enterprise Saskatchewan and Innovation Saskatchewan. He later served as a contract CEO, CFO or COO to several University-based organizations affiliated with Vaccine Development (VIDO), the U of S College of Engineering, Prairie Diagnostic Services to support Western Veterinary Medicine, and with a former Institute of Energy and Environmental Studies in Alberta.
Since 2010, Dale has returned to the private sector, and formed a thriving Leadership Coaching, Training and Strategy Consulting Business called Botting Leadership Inc. He specializes in Executive and Business Coaching, Leadership Development, Governance Reform, Social Enterprise and Organizational Development and Strategy. In 2016 Dale was recognized by his USA and Canadian peers as “Business Coach of the Year” for the Western Half of North America. In 2018 he established a separate Professional Business Coaches Alliance exclusive to Canada (PBCA Canada). He later become the first person to be inducted into the Canadian Business Coaches Association “Hall of Fame” in 2021. Dale is also on the “Wall of Fame” at the U of S College of Education.
Dale has coached hundreds of CEOs, Small Business Owners, University VPs and Deans, Non-Profit Executive Directors, First Nation Chiefs and Councils, and other Boards and organizations. He has also been the designated partner and leadership trainer to numerous professional and industry associations – in manufacturing, construction, real estate, engineering, academia, and across Indigenous networks and Tribal Councils.
In 2020 Dale started another network and professional credentialing program, called the Global Alliance for Professional Leadership Development (GAPLD). GAPLD trains and certifies professionals who see Organizational Leadership as a vocation, with its own unique skills and competencies. This global network now has dozens of participants, including University Deans and Chancellors, Corporate CEO’s, Non-Profit Executive Directors, and even a Canadian Senator within its membership. It is also a network of other Leadership Consultants, Coaches and Trainers in North America – from Miami to Los Angeles, and across Midwest USA and Canada. In 2023, Dale expanded the GAPLD network to include members in Europe and Africa.
Dale and his wife Rose continue to be based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. They have a blended family of five adult children and seven grandchildren. They are global travelers and so far, have visited every continent except Antarctica. Dale is an avid Naturalist, and he is also engaged as a practitioner of Biomimicry. Dale also donates his leadership development skills to support the work of various Charitable and Non-profit Organizations (NPOs). Dale is now a published author, having released his new book Nobody from Nowhere: A Story of Leadership, Resilience and Legacy in June 2025. He also continues as a regular columnist in several newsletters and blogs, and as an occasional guest or contributor in various news media.​

At this stage of his career, Dale is primarily focusing his attention of more writing and thought leadership – on Strategy, on various Organizational Development and Self-Leadership Topics, on Public Policy, on Social and Economic Development, on enhanced Scientific Literacy, and on general Philosophy and Shared Wisdom.Dale is refocusing his attention on more book writing and (hopefully) publishing on various topics of thought leadership – on strategy, organizational development, self-leadership, public policy, science, and general philosophy.
